Product Overview
Dampit is the original humidifier for string instruments and has been protecting wood instruments for over 60 years. A soft rubber tube holds water inside a sponge and releases it slowly, keeping the wood from drying out and cracking during dry weather and central heating.
This is the Violin Dampit (902W), made for full-size violins.
To use it, immerse the Dampit in water for about 20 seconds, pinch the end to remove excess water, gently wipe the outer tube dry and place it inside the instrument. When it is nearly dry, repeat. The Dampit humidity indicator shows the humidity of your room; the optimum level is 45% to 55%.
The Dampit may stay inside the instrument while you play, with no tonal loss. Store your instrument in the coolest part of the room, away from radiators and heat registers.
Made in the USA.
