Description
The Gotoh TB-47.5 is a string retainer tension bar for 6-string Floyd Rose-style double-locking tremolo systems, made in Japan. Mounted on the headstock behind the nut, it pulls the strings down so they contact the full surface of the locking nut before it's clamped—critical on flat, non-angled "plank" headstocks (like most Fender-style necks) where there isn't enough natural break angle.
Getting this angle right keeps the strings from going sharp as the locking nut tightens, which preserves the full range of the fine tuners for later adjustment. The bar has a round bottom with a slight radius to minimize friction as the strings move. It measures 47.5mm wide with 28.5mm mounting-screw spacing.
