Product Overview
The Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL 6010 is a replacement nut for Gibson electric guitars made before 2014 and similar guitars (post-2014 models use the slightly taller 6011).
Black TUSQ XL is based on Graph Tech's highly resonant TUSQ man-made ivory but is impregnated with PTFE, so strings glide through the slots and return to pitch for better tuning stability. It couples the strings' vibration to the neck to bring out harmonics and richness. Graph Tech recommends TUSQ XL for electric guitars and bass.
Choosing the right nut: match it by length, then thickness, then string spacing (center of the low E slot to center of the high E slot). A little longer or thicker than your old nut is fine, as Graph Tech leaves a little extra so it can be sanded to a flush, snug fit.
