Master 8 Japan is the pick brand of Ikeda Picks, Japan's largest guitar pick manufacturer. Every pick is molded, polished, and printed entirely in-house at their own factory, giving them complete control over materials and quality. Master 8 has earned a reputation for pioneering new pick materials and grip technologies that deliver better tone, durability, and feel than conventional picks.
INFINIX — Master 8's flagship material. A proprietary plastic used for the first time in guitar picks, INFINIX offers exceptional flexibility, shape memory, and abrasion resistance. The feel is similar to tortoiseshell with natural finger adhesion, and it produces less pick noise than traditional materials. The unpolished surface gives a bright, articulate tone that stays consistent as the pick wears.
INFINIX + Hard Grip — The same INFINIX material with a sand-textured grip applied to both sides for players who need extra hold during aggressive playing.
INFINIX-U + Hard Grip — Master 8's next evolution. INFINIX-U blends their proprietary INFINIX resin with ULTEM at a carefully developed ratio, combining INFINIX's flexibility and wear resistance with ULTEM's high hardness and sound clarity. The result is a pick with improved projection and note definition, finished with the sand-textured Hard Grip.
INFINIX-U Hard Polish + Hard Grip — The INFINIX-U blend with a polished, rounded edge for smoother string release and reduced pick noise. Paired with the Hard Grip for secure handling. Delivers a warmer, fuller tone compared to the unpolished versions.
INFINIX Hard Polish + Rubber Grip — The INFINIX material polished to a smooth matte finish with rounded edges for low-friction string contact. Features Master 8's rubber grip — a non-slip coating that provides a different feel than the sand-textured Hard Grip, offering comfortable hold without the abrasive texture.
D-801 — Made from Duracon, a material similar to Delrin that has become a standard among pick manufacturers. The D-801 delivers a familiar feel with a speedy attack, especially on wound strings. Master 8's precise polishing process preserves more of the pick edge than typical Delrin picks, resulting in a faster, more responsive playing feel.
