Description
The Thomastik-Infeld CF127 is part of the legendary Classic N Superlona series, a heavy-duty nylon set built around one defining feature: chrome steel flatwound bass strings. Where most classical sets rely on roundwound basses, the CF127's polished flatwound D, A, and low E deliver an almost silent left-hand feel — no squeak on position shifts, no finger noise on slides — making the set a longstanding studio choice for players who need dead-quiet basses under the microphone. The trebles are plain nylon in normal tension (E, B, G), balanced to complement the smooth, warm character of the flatwound low end.
Made in Vienna to the same standards Thomastik-Infeld has applied to orchestral strings for over a century, the CF127 offers a tone that is pure, warm, and resonant, with excellent sustain and remarkable longevity. Beyond the recording studio, the set is also easy under the fingers and holds tuning well, making it equally suited to serious classical practice and performance work.
