Description
The Gotoh 201B-4 is one of the most popular replacement bridges for 4-string bass, made in Japan. Its diecast zinc plate and brass saddles add mass over the thin stamped-steel bridges found on many stock instruments, translating to noticeably better sustain, attack, and low-end definition—a favorite first upgrade for Fender-style Precision and Jazz basses.
It's a straightforward drop-in for standard Fender 5-screw mounting (17.5mm center-to-center) with 19mm string spacing and top-load stringing for quick restrings. Each brass saddle adjusts individually for height and intonation and rides in a slot to stop the sideways drift common to vintage bridges. Finished in chrome, it ships with five mounting screws and a hex wrench.
Note: included screws can be slightly thinner than some factory screws—reusing your original screws is fine if they fit better.
