Description
The Gotoh 205B-5 is a vintage-style 5-string bass bridge, made in Japan, built around a solid steel base plate and brass saddles. The added mass and material quality improve sustain and sound transmission versus thin stamped-steel bridges, making it a dependable upgrade or replacement for most 5-string Fender-style Precision and Jazz basses.
It's a straightforward drop-in with standard Fender-style 5-screw mounting and 18mm string spacing, with top-load stringing for quick restrings. Each brass saddle adjusts individually for height and intonation, and the outer saddles ride in slots to stop the sideways drift common to vintage bridges. Finished in nickel, it ships with five mounting screws and hardware.
