The Gotoh J510SJ-4 is a 4-string bass bridge from Gotoh's 510 Multi-Tonal Series, made in Japan, built around a hard zinc base plate with steel saddles. The zinc plate is prized for its sonorous tonal quality and quick transfer of string vibration to the body, giving a full, balanced voice with excellent sustain—a premium upgrade over thin stamped bridges.
Its standout feature is the quick-release top-load design: strings load from the top and release quickly, making restrings fast and hassle-free. The compact plate (78.3 x 53mm, no raised side edges) carries individually height- and intonation-adjustable saddles at 19mm string spacing, finished in gold with mounting screws included. Note: for a warmer voice, the brass-saddle J510BO-4 version is also available; confirm your mounting and spacing before ordering.
