Description
The Gotoh SXB510V-SB is the solid-brass, wide-spacing version of Gotoh's open-gear (open-back) guitar machine head from the high-performance SX510 series, made in Japan. Built entirely from solid brass—body and buttons—it adds headstock mass and a warm, resonant tonal character prized by players chasing vintage warmth, with the natural brass serving as the finish rather than a plated coating.
Like the rest of the SX510 line, it overcomes classic open-gear shortcomings with a base centering guide for accurate post alignment and Rock-Solid string posts that resist post rocking. This set is configured 3Lx3R with 06B brass butter-bean buttons, a 15:1 gear ratio, and press-in bushings on the wider 25.1–25.4mm (1") mounting-hole spacing (Kluson-style). Note: for the narrower 23.8mm (15/16", Grover-vintage) spacing, use the standard SXB510-SB version—confirm your headstock spacing before ordering.
