Description:
The Gruv Gear FretWraps String Dampener is a professional tool designed to reduce unwanted overtones and sympathetic ringing. By effectively cutting out the noise that can compromise a performance, these dampeners help players achieve cleaner takes in the studio and more defined sounds during live play. They are particularly beneficial for technical styles like tapping, high-gain soloing, or anytime extra string vibration needs to be suppressed. The medium size is specifically tailored to fit 5-string basses, classical guitars, and various extended-range instruments.
Using the FretWrap is straightforward and requires no hardware or adhesive. Simply slide the wrap over the strings and adjust the tension to dial in the exact amount of dampening required for your technique. When you need the strings to ring fully open again, the wrap easily slides back behind the nut. This simple adjustment allows you to transition between dampening and open resonance without any hassle, making it an essential accessory for recording musicians and guitarists seeking to tighten up their overall sound quality.
