Description
The Thomastik-Infeld IN111 is the medium-gauge set from the Infeld electric line, built around Thomastik's proprietary Superalloy wrap wire. Where most electric strings prioritize either brightness or output, the Superalloy formulation delivers both — a bright, cutting tone with measurably more power than conventional nickel or nickel-plated wraps. That extra output translates directly into a stronger signal-to-noise ratio, which is why the Infeld line has earned a longstanding following among pedal-heavy players, downtuners, and stage performers running long cable paths where signal dropoff is a real concern.
The plain E and B are steel; the G, D, A, and low E are Superalloy roundwound over a steel core. The wound G gives this set a fatter, more focused midrange than the lighter Infeld gauges, making the IN111 a natural fit for jazz and blues players, heavy rhythm work, and standard-to-drop tunings that demand more tension under the fingers. Tonally, the set stays bright and articulate with strong pick attack and clear note separation, holding tuning and tonal life well under nightly practice and performance. Made in Vienna to Thomastik-Infeld's century-old standards.
