Description
The Thomastik-Infeld CR128 is a hybrid variation on the Classic N Superlona theme. Plain nylon E and B trebles sit above a specially compacted high-density synthetic fiber G-3rd (.033) — a denser, more focused alternative to standard plain nylon that improves clarity, projection, and tuning stability on the notoriously tricky G string. The D, A, and low E are silver-plated copper roundwound, giving the low end the warm, resonant, traditional character classical players expect from a well-made roundwound set.
Precision-engineered in Vienna to the same standards Thomastik-Infeld has applied to orchestral strings for over a century, the CR128 is easy under the fingers and holds tuning well. The high-density G addresses the intonation and tonal drop-off issues common with plain nylon third strings, making the CR128 a strong choice for players who want a conventional roundwound low end paired with a more defined, articulate middle voice — well suited to student, practice, and performance use alike.
