Description
The Thomastik-Infeld IN365 is the 5-string super-long-scale (36") version of the flagship Infeld bass set, purpose-built for extended-scale basses where the extra scale length is used to bring the low B into sharper focus. The construction is the same layered build that defines the Infeld line: an outer Superalloy round winding over an inner pure nickel wrap, all wound around a hexagonal steel core. The Superalloy layer combines the high signal-to-noise output of ferrous content with the warm, smooth character of nickel underneath, delivering a modern, articulate voice that never tips into brittleness.
Tonally, the IN365 delivers a balanced spread across the frequency spectrum: full, well-rounded lows; throaty, present mids; and solid, brilliant treble. The .040-.120 gauge is calibrated specifically for the 36" scale — a slightly lighter G side than the 34" IN345, offering comfortable playability across the extra scale length while the low B benefits from the added tension for tighter attack and clearer note definition. As a bonus, the Superalloy wrap is noticeably gentler on frets than stainless steel or all-steel strings. Made in Vienna to Thomastik-Infeld's century-old standards.
